Mold Kitchen

Are Mold Kitchen silicone molds food safe?

Yes — Mold Kitchen pours food-grade, platinum-cure silicone (the same family used in premium bakeware) and it is certified BPA free. It is safe from −40°F to 450°F, so it works in the oven, freezer, and dishwasher. Wash a new mold with warm soapy water before you use it the first time.

One rule to know

Food molds are for food only. If you ever cast a non-food-safe material in a mold — epoxy resin is the common example — it is no longer safe to use for food afterward.

What about the plastic trays?

Mold Kitchen's vacuum-formed trays are a different material (rigid PETG) and are cold-food-contact only — hand-wash them, and never put them in the oven.

Washing and care

Hand-wash or top-rack dishwasher after each use. Never cut inside a cavity with a knife or sharp tool — flex the mold and the cast pops free. See the full mold care guide ›.
